Lighting of the Square and Open House

This year we held our first ever Lighting of the Square and Open House.  The Downtown Merchants and Restaurants were open late to usher in the community for shopping, snacks and fun!  There were pictures with Santa, roasting marshmellows, snow machines and live music!  We had an amazing turn out and can't wait for this event to grow into a true Carrollton tradition.  Next years Lighting of the Square and Open House is planned for November 18th.

Holiday Wishes Christmas Parade:

This year we hosted our 16th annual Holiday Wishes Christmas Parade.  With over 50 entries in the parade we had the biggest participation and turn out from the community that we have ever had.  There we're marching bands, horses, deocrate floats, vehicles, bikers, walkers, skaters, tumblers and Santa himself.  Using the historic downtown as the backdrop the majic from this event warms you inside and sets the tone for the whole holiday season.  Next years parade will take place on Thursday December 2nd.

First Georgia Banking Company: We were so excited when First Georgia approached us this year to not only be our sponsor for the Christmas Parade but to be our sponsor for our whole holiday season.  Main Street has been able to work with First Georgia in the past on several events.  They were our headline sponsor for the 2008 Taste of Carrollton Event and they sponsored our Community Quilt activity during this year's Mayfest event.  Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable and made up of our friends and family members in the community.  We are excited to have them on board this Christmas and can only expect good things to come from them in the future.
